2023 Holiday gifts

I made a few things for gifts this year – some didn’t turn out exactly like I planned, but others did perfectly.

I was in Joanns, just to get some thread, came out with a yard of this pretty unicorn fleece and a yard of the matching pink (of course).

This blanket was done by sewing the 2 fabrics (right sides facing each other), then turned inside out. Then I pressed the seams/edge out. This is how I sewed the finishign seam on the unicorn blanket and scarf – I used my SITD foot, offset the needle more than usual, then ran around the outside of this blanket.  It gave the whole thing a cute little curve to it.

I didn’t realize just how much fuzz sewing this kind of fabric creates into your sewing machine until I glanced down and saw this:

I also made a couple of these scarfs.

1 has fleece & flannel – so it’s nice an warm, the other has just flannel and it’s perfect for late fall days (which is all that we have had hear in Minnesota this year.

I put clasps on this one so it’s adjustable to how close you want it wrapped around your.
