Little bitty baby blanket

Seems that it’s baby season around here – this little guy came a little early so we haven’t been able to see him yet.

But I finally got this put together for him.  Precuts that I have had in the drawer for a very long time and a left over piece of minky.

Don’t knock these little blankets – they are padded, yet can be stuffed in a diaper bag, great for laying on the changing tables at the public restrooms, or in a lap or on a shoulder, or just thrown over the carrier because the baby has fallen asleep and they need their quiet time.  Very very versatile item.

Pink Parade

This last month it’s been “All About The Pink” for me.

I have 5 quit tops now down, baby blankets = yes all in pink.

2 I have actually quilted and bound!!!!

I ran out of backing that goes with the other 3 so I have to get that, but I am practicing the quilting patterns that I want to do on them.

The first one that got finished is simply pink squares – nothing fancy about it. The quilting shows up so nicely on the back – so cute the way it came together. I am proud to say that I actually did the quilting on my HQSS – you start the learning curve all over again when you don’t use her for months/years at a time.

The binding on these one didn’t go so good, I did learn a lot about what not to do with binding.

In the pink of things

This is not my usual color pallet to work with but this is the project I am working on right now. I am embracing the pink.

What’s even more amazing to me is that 80% of this was in my bins – I only picked up a few extra/new to add to it. So here’s to a stash buster project(s).
