New Project – 2021

So this is so going the wrong way. I now have 0 empty project boxes.  I had 3, but I started organizing some things (bindings that I had made randomly or left over, minky fabric, etc) and then today, I made 2 blocks for a new project.  This is not good, not good, I tell ya!

I have loved this scrappy block “Geese Migration” since the first time I saw it, but it always looked overwhelming at the same time.  So when I was doing the flying geese to finish this project I had some flying geese blocks left over. Then I realized that I had some small pieces left over also and things started to ping. Since I already had the flying geese done, no sense wasting them – especially since I had enough other pieces to complete this one block that I love love love.

So I did it, after completing the Blue, Brown and Green top – I kept going and pieced together not 1, but 2 of these blocks.

The bad thing: now I am thinking of what other project boxes I can go in and make some more of these blocks.

These are a large block – 15 1/2″ .  I am going to have to come to terms with the fact that since I am going to do this as a scrappy quilt, and I am committing to not buy any fabric to make these blocks (not sure if I’m doing sashing or not – I know I won’t have anything enough to do that so I would have to buy some for that) and some of my project boxes have some really outrageous colors schemes. I know that I have 2 if not 3 boxes that are pink based – bright pink. But that’s part of a scrappy quilt.  So I am off to a great start 2 of ?? are done!!!!!
