I got this one done, just under the wire (my goal is to finish them up by Friday).
This one is huge, 86″ unfinished square – the pattern is originally 75×85 I decided to use the panel in this a little differently then the pattern calls for and luckily I had just enough extra fabric that I could pull it off.
It was hard getting a picture of the finished thing – breezy day and it’s so long – I really don’t have someplace to hang something this big to take a picture. So it’s not a very good picture but overall it looks very nice.
So the changes I did:
- Rather than use the panel as center pieces for the stars, i used the panel to extend the sides.
- Moved the bear paw out to the corners of the inside (now square)
- I made 6 extra stars so that I could square it off.
- Added a burgundy for the stars & dark brown for the log cabin centers.
- the inside sashing is not quite as wide as it was called for but I made it to fit the now extended sides.
I still ended up with a good amount of fabric left – not the outer boarder – 2 pieces 6×10 and 1 piece 3xWOF – I so lucked out on that for sure. I did lay it on my queen size bed and it does cover it with a 4 inch or so hang over.
I did notice when I had the center log cabin circle put together that I do not have them arranged quite right. But they went together so nicely that I just couldn’t pull it apart – so that is a bit annoying but it really did go together nicely.
Just because the colors are so beautiful – here’s another picture of it.
