So I have been uninspired in the craft room lately – just not feeling it. So, to my surprise, I couldn’t wait to get down there this morning.
I stopped at one of my favorite shops this weekend and they had the cutest quilt hanging on the wall – Metro Waves using the Quick Curve Ruler. Hmmm, seems to me I have that ruler (and the mini one too) just sitting at home waiting to be used. I could feel the passion creepy up on me. So that started me off today…
Big Bright Flowers that go with a panel – part of a kit I bought this Spring but the pattern was missing so I put it aside until I got the pattern. Well, I’ve had that for awhile and as I was searching for fabric for the Blue Green Smiles I ran across it and TADA it made it to the table.
I have a local shop, well not really local, but I make a point to go there 4 times a year and I always come home with something…ALWAYS! Even when I’m not looking for anything. They do a lot of kits – not necessary kits, but packages of fabric. I think it’s usually to use up stuff that they are not going to be restocking or changing seasons. I have made many quilts from their 3 or 5 yard bundles. The best this is that these “kits” are priced to sell – move fabric, and I am always looking for a deal. This last group I purchased with a pattern called StarBrite – basically you make stars out of anything of these colors and the other pieces are the backgrounds. I tried to make it once, but I just wasn’t feeling it. I wanted for find something that was right for this group – and I think I have.

So right now, I have about 100 smiles cut and arranged, I have the 1/4 Brights all ironed and ready to be cut and the Big Bright flowers are ready to be ‘readied’. This sure helped brighten up my dreary, windy, no football till evening, Minnesota Sunday.
