Painting on barnwood

So I have a crush on Barn Wood projects so I decided to try one for myself.

This is a project not for the faint of heart or for someone without patience!!

I spent 4 hours cleaning the barn wood, because true barn wood has worked all it’s life. It came covered in ants, a bit soft and for sure grungy.  Soaked it, scrubbed it – wait until dry and repeat.   I did a couple pieces at a time, but still, a putzy part of this project for sure.

I cut a vinyl stencil to do this, but this wood is by no means smooth. And when you are a perfectionist that can really drive you crazy. So the closer you look the choppier it is, but from a distance it’s pretty cool.
